Ondes PRO for manufacturers: production in your AI’s line of sight

You build products from components, and one missing part is enough to stop an assembly. With Ondes PRO’s MCP server, your AI assistant reads your components, bills of materials and production orders. It works out what you can build with today’s stock, spots shortages before they stall the shop floor, and drafts production orders for you to approve.

A day on the production side with an AI assistant

7:30am. The production manager asks for the morning picture: which components dropped below their alert threshold over the weekend, and which production orders planned this week depend on them.

9am. A salesperson receives a large enquiry. Before replying, they ask how many finished products are in stock and how many more can be assembled from available components. The answer accounts for sub-assemblies in the bill of materials.

11am. The assistant drafts a production order for the agreed quantity. The workshop lead reviews it and moves it to “planned”.

4pm. Assembly is done: running the order consumes the components in the bill of materials and updates stock, with no part-by-part issue entries.

Can we fulfil this order? The answer in a minute

An Atelier Lumen salesperson checks stock before committing. The assistant reads the bill of materials instead of guessing.

Claude · Example conversation · demo data (Atelier Lumen)
  1. You : Résidence Les Pins wants 60 brushed-brass Arc floor lamps by the end of November. Can we do it?
  2. MCP tool : ondes_appeler GET inventory/assemblages?search=Arc — 12 finished Arc floor lamps in stock, 34 buildable from available components.
  3. MCP tool : ondes_appeler Reads the Arc floor lamp’s bill of materials and the stock of each component.
  4. Assistant : With current stock you can deliver 46 lamps (12 finished, 34 to assemble). For the remaining 14, you are short 14 brushed-brass 120 cm tubes and 9 weighted bases; every other component is covered. I suggest a draft production order for 34 units right away, and I can list the two components to reorder with the supplier saved on their record.
  5. You : Yes, draft the production order.
  6. MCP tool : ondes_appeler POST inventory/ordres-production with simuler: true, then for real: draft order created for 34 Arc floor lamps.
  7. Assistant : The production order is a draft in Inventory. It will not consume any component until the workshop plans and runs it.

How does the AI understand a bill of materials?

In Ondes PRO, an assembled product carries its bill of materials: the components and sub-assemblies that make it up, with their quantities. A sub-assembly can have its own bill of materials; the calculation walks down every level to find the real component requirement.

That is what lets the assistant answer the question that matters — “how many can we build today?” — and estimate what is missing for a given quantity, including component cost when prices are filled in. It guesses nothing: it reads the same data as your inventory screens. Module details are on the inventory management page.

Monday’s low-stock review

Ondes PRO’s built-in assistant cross-references components and production orders, then proposes its actions as a plan.

Claude · Example conversation · demo data (Atelier Lumen)
  1. You : Which components are below threshold, and what does that hold up this week?
  2. MCP tool : ondes_assistant Components below their alert threshold, planned production orders and the bills of materials involved.
  3. Assistant : Four components are below threshold. Two block this week: brass E27 lamp holders (18 in stock, 40 needed for Thursday’s planned Pétrole pendant order) and black fabric cable (25 m for 60 m). Dimmers and mounting screws are low, with no pending order relying on them.
  4. You : Create a card in the Purchasing board for each component, with the supplier link.
  5. MCP tool : ondes_assistant Proposes a plan: 4 cards in the “To order” column of the Purchasing board, the two blocking ones at the top.
  6. You : Confirm.
  7. MCP tool : ondes_assistant confirmer — 4 cards created, visible live to the purchasing team.

What the AI keeps track of for a manufacturer

  • Components: quantities, alert thresholds, supplier and order link, stock value — see inventory management.
  • Bills of materials: assembled products, sub-assemblies, buildable quantity from today’s stock.
  • Production orders: draft, planned, in progress, done or cancelled; running an order consumes its components.
  • Stock movements: receipts and issues, to trace where a discrepancy came from.
  • Purchasing: one card per component to reorder, tracked on a shared board — see Kanban.
  • Sales: finished products linked to the store, and a quote for a business customer — see invoicing.

Several sites or several companies?

If your group has several companies, each gets its own workspace in Ondes PRO, and its stock stays its own. The parent company can open some components to its subsidiaries so they assemble from the group’s warehouse. The assistant targets the company you name; a subsidiary never sees a sister company’s stock.

How much does AI-assisted inventory management cost?

The MCP server is included in every Ondes PRO plan, together with inventory, bills of materials and production orders, as well as invoicing, the CRM and the store. The Pro plan covers up to 100 users; beyond that, the Entreprise plan is quoted on request. Details are on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions

Can an MCP server connect to my inventory management?

Yes. Ondes PRO’s MCP server gives your AI assistant access to the components, stock movements, bills of materials and production orders in your instance, with your role’s permissions.

Does the AI know how many products can be built from current stock?

Yes. It reads each assembled product’s bill of materials, sub-assemblies included, and the buildable quantity Ondes PRO computes from component stock. It can also estimate what is missing to reach a given quantity.

Can the assistant start production on its own?

It can draft a production order. Planning and running it — which actually consumes components — remains your decision, and every write is reported as a test or real.

How does the AI spot shortages?

Each component can have an alert threshold. The assistant lists those that have dropped below it and cross-references them with planned production orders to tell you which ones actually block production.

Does Ondes PRO replace a manufacturing ERP?

Ondes PRO covers component stock, bills of materials, production orders, sales and invoicing for a small or mid-sized manufacturer. For advanced machine capacity planning, a specialised tool remains a better fit. The demo lets you check whether the scope suits you.

Is the MCP server an add-on?

No. It is included in every Ondes PRO plan, starting with Essentiel, with every module: inventory, bills of materials and production orders included. There is no connector to buy and no module to unlock before your assistant can reach them.

Plug your AI into your business
