Modules you can drive over MCP
Ondes PRO Email: a mailbox your AI can work through
Ondes PRO email is reachable by your AI assistant through your workspace’s MCP server. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Visual Studio Code can search your messages, read them, reply in the right thread, move and flag them — on addresses at your own domain, or on an existing mailbox you have linked. By default every send from the assistant is simulated first: nothing leaves without an explicit call.
Handle a delivery complaint without leaving the chat
Monday morning at Atelier Lumen, the contact@ inbox is overflowing. The owner is looking for one message and wants to answer quickly, and correctly.
Connecting a mailbox to an AI: what the MCP server allows
An email MCP server turns your assistant into a colleague who can deal with the post: find a conversation from a name or a word in the body, summarise a thread, write a reply that keeps the right subject and thread, file what has been handled, mark as read what needs nothing, or flag spam. It works on the real, current mailbox, not on a forwarded copy.
In Ondes PRO, email sits next to the CRM, invoicing and orders, so an assistant reading a complaint can check the order or the client record before answering. A standalone mail connector cannot do that. The MCP server overview introduces the eight tools shared by every module.
The mail actions the assistant calls
They belong to the API’s mail/boites resource, take the mailbox in the boite parameter and all go through the ondes_appeler tool.
| Action | Use | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
messages/ | List a folder, or search with search | Server-side search across subject, addresses and body; folder=tous covers the whole mailbox except spam and trash. |
message/ | Read a message | In test mode, reading does not mark it as read. |
envoyer/ | Write, reply, forward | With repond_a, thread headers are derived from the original message. |
deplacer/ | File into a folder | The response includes the body that undoes the move. |
flags/, tout-lu/ | Mark read, important… | A missing message identifier is reported, never silently skipped. |
dossiers/ | List, create, rename folders | An unknown folder is rejected instead of falling back to the inbox. |
Addresses at your own domain, or an existing mailbox
Addresses created in Ondes PRO live on your company’s domain (contact@your-company.com), signed so they land in the inbox rather than in spam. They can be driven over MCP like everything else.
Already on Gmail, OVH or IONOS? You can link that mailbox to Ondes PRO over IMAP: it then shows up in the Email module, in the built-in assistant and for your MCP-connected assistant, with the same actions. Microsoft 365 and Outlook are not supported today, because they require their own OAuth sign-in.
Safeguards: your AI sends nothing by mistake
- Simulated test mode: on mailboxes,
ondes_appelerworks in test mode by default. Reads hit the real mailbox with no side effects; writes (send, move, flag) are simulated and the response says so (simule: true). - A real send is explicit: it takes
reel: true, which your AI client normally asks you to approve. - Other people’s mail stays private: managing colleagues’ addresses does not mean reading their mail. The assistant only opens mailboxes you can access yourself, including shared mailboxes assigned to you.
- No arbitrary sender: the API only sends from a mailbox linked to you;
ondes_impossiblereminds the assistant before it tries anything else. - Every call is logged in your workspace, flagged as coming from MCP.
What about email marketing? Campaigns, lists and contacts
Beyond the inbox, the API exposes email marketing: emails/campagnes, emails/listes, emails/contacts and emails/modeles. Your assistant can build a list of clients in one sector, write a template or propose a campaign. One-off sends (emails/envois) have a test twin: a trial reaches no real recipient.
For messages that should go out on their own — a follow-up after an order, a quote reminder — look at automations instead, which the assistant prepares as drafts.

Frequently asked questions
Can an AI reply to my emails?
Yes. Connected to Ondes PRO over MCP, your assistant finds a message, reads it and drafts a reply in the same thread. By default the send is simulated: the response shows what would go out, and a real send needs an explicit call.
Can the AI read my colleagues’ email?
No. It only opens mailboxes the connected person can access, shared mailboxes included. Managing the team’s addresses does not grant access to their content.
My email is on Gmail or OVH. Does it work?
Yes, by linking it to Ondes PRO over IMAP from the mailboxes screen. It then becomes available to the Email module and to your MCP assistant with the same actions. Microsoft 365 and Outlook are not supported for now.
How does test mode work for email?
Reads hit the real mailbox with no side effects (a message you read is not marked as read); sends, moves and flags are simulated and the response says so. Acting for real takes reel: true.
Can I search the whole mailbox at once?
Yes: search runs server-side across subject, addresses and body, and folder=tous goes through every folder except spam and trash. Results are paginated, each tagged with its folder.
Is email over MCP included in my plan?
Yes. The Email module and the MCP server are included in every Ondes PRO plan. Mailbox storage shares your workspace’s storage allowance. See pricing.
Plug your AI into your business
The MCP server is included in every plan, with no add-on or extra fee.
