Ondes PRO MCP vs Zapier, Make and n8n: which one connects your AI?
Zapier, Make and n8n now ship their own MCP server, and so does Ondes PRO. Do you have to pick one? Not really. Automation platforms expose workflows that link third-party apps to your AI, while Ondes PRO’s MCP server exposes your business data and actions directly. This MCP vs Zapier vs n8n comparison, written on 21 October 2026 with the same criteria applied to each, shows which one fits which need — and how to make them work together.
MCP vs Zapier, Make and n8n: two answers to two questions
An automation platform answers “how do I connect my apps to each other?”. You build a workflow — a trigger, then steps — that moves information from one app to another. Its MCP server then lets an AI assistant run those workflows or call the actions of connected apps.
Ondes PRO’s MCP server answers a different question: “how can my assistant work inside my business software?”. Nothing needs to be built first. The assistant sees your instance’s modules directly — store, inventory, invoicing, CRM, Kanban, calendar, email — with your permissions, and reads and writes the way you would in the admin.
So it is not an either-or choice; it is a question of scope. If you are new to the protocol itself, start with what is MCP.

Zapier MCP: reach into a huge app catalogue
According to its dedicated page, Zapier’s MCP server is included in all plans and gives an AI assistant the actions of more than 9,000 apps. Each tool call counts as two tasks against the plan’s quota; the Free plan includes 100 tasks a month and Professional starts at $19.99 a month billed annually.
Its strength is breadth. If your assistant needs to write to a spreadsheet, post in a team chat and open a ticket in a third-party tool, Zapier already has those connectors. What remains is choosing which actions to expose and keeping an eye on task usage.
Make and n8n: your scenarios and workflows become tools
At Make, the MCP server is included in every plan and exposes your scenarios as tools an assistant can run. The Free plan includes 1,000 credits a month according to the pricing page. The AI thus benefits from automations you have already built and tested, business rules included.
n8n offers an MCP Server Trigger node that turns a workflow into an MCP server, and since version 2.14 in April 2026 instance-level MCP access (documentation). On price, the cloud Starter plan is €20 a month and the Community Edition can be self-hosted with no licence fee (pricing) — a strong point for technical teams that want to own their infrastructure.
In both cases, the value comes from the workflows you built: the assistant can only do what a scenario knows how to do. That brings control, and it brings build and upkeep work.
Ondes PRO’s MCP server: your business data, no scenario to build
Ondes PRO is all-in-one business management software, and every workspace ships with its MCP server. The assistant does not call a workflow: it queries and updates your instance’s orders, stock, quotes, invoices, CRM records and Kanban cards directly, with the permissions of whoever authorised it.
Because nothing is pre-built, an unplanned request still works. “Which customers bought the Arc floor lamp this year and have not had a quote since?” spans store, CRM and invoicing without anyone having designed a scenario for it. Safeguards live in the server: writes go to test mode by default when a resource has a twin, dry runs with simuler: true, automatic idempotency, and a plan to approve whenever Ondes PRO’s built-in assistant proposes changes.
The limit mirrors that of automation platforms: the server covers Ondes PRO’s modules, not the rest of your software stack. To write to a third-party tool you need something else — which is exactly where the two complement each other.
An unplanned request, no workflow prepared
Monday morning at Atelier Lumen: Sophie Arnaud asks something no existing scenario covers, and hands the follow-up to the built-in assistant.
When to pick Zapier, Make or n8n
- Connecting third-party apps to each other, such as a team chat, a spreadsheet and a support tool you already use.
- A repetitive job that runs identically on every event, with no assistant involved, even overnight.
- Business rules already captured in proven scenarios or workflows that the AI must follow to the letter.
- Owning the infrastructure: self-hosting n8n Community Edition covers that need.
When Ondes PRO’s MCP server is enough
- Your business data lives in Ondes PRO: store, inventory, quotes and invoices, CRM, projects, calendar.
- Requests are varied and unpredictable: you cannot build one scenario per question.
- A request spans several modules: a quote, a Kanban card and an appointment in one sentence — see the MCP server overview.
- You want predictable costs: the server is part of your subscription and its calls are not metered individually.
Can you use n8n, Make or Zapier with Ondes PRO?
Yes. Ondes PRO publishes a v1 REST API described by an OpenAPI 3.1 schema, reachable with scoped API keys, and sends signed outgoing webhooks (Ondes-Signature header) when, for instance, an order is paid. These platforms’ generic HTTP request modules can therefore call the API and react to events, with no dedicated connector.
The most natural split: your automation platform carries Ondes PRO events out to your other tools, while your assistant, connected to the MCP server, works inside Ondes PRO day to day. For internal flows, Ondes PRO also has an automations module: the AI can draft one from a sentence, and switching it on remains a human action in the admin.
Our take: complementary tools
Zapier, Make and n8n shine at connecting apps and repeating a job exactly. Ondes PRO’s MCP server is for working inside your business data, request by request, with nothing to build beforehand. A company already running an automation platform does not need to drop it: it gains an assistant that works inside its business data, while its workflows keep linking everything else.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between MCP and Zapier?
MCP is an open protocol; Zapier is an automation platform that offers its own MCP server to expose actions from 9,000+ apps. Ondes PRO’s MCP server exposes your business software’s data and actions directly, with no workflow to build.
Does n8n have an MCP server?
Yes. As of 21 October 2026, n8n offers an “MCP Server Trigger” node and, since version 2.14 in April 2026, instance-level MCP access, according to its documentation.
Does Ondes PRO’s MCP server replace Zapier, Make or n8n?
No. It covers Ondes PRO’s modules, not your third-party software. Automation platforms remain useful for linking those tools; the two complement each other.
How much does Ondes PRO’s MCP server cost?
It is included in every Ondes PRO plan, starting with Essentiel at €39/month excl. VAT, and MCP calls are not metered individually. See pricing.
How does Zapier bill an MCP call?
According to Zapier’s page as of 21 October 2026, each tool call counts as two tasks against the plan’s quota. Check zapier.com, as terms may change.
Can I connect n8n or Make to Ondes PRO?
Yes, through Ondes PRO’s v1 REST API with a scoped API key, and through its signed outgoing webhooks. Their generic HTTP request modules are enough.
